The tongs are based on a pair of coal tongs I own. Oddly this was one of the harder assets for me to create due to the weird shape of them. There is something in the design that i could wrap my head around for a long time compared to the other assets.
When these were textured I made the ends significantly darker than the grips as they would frequently be plunged into the fires of the forge. This was achieved by adding various alpha textures in substance painter and changing the colour to various shades of black to sit on top of the shiny surface of the metal.
