Professional practice – Idea Generation and Influences

Introduction to Batman: The Animated series. Note the reduced pallete to create strong imagery. (Brothers,2018)

Batman the animated series utilises a powerful Art Deco aesthetic in its environment design which helps to create a sense of tension within the environment. This lends itself to the medium of 2D animation well and could serve as a strong point of inspiration for our project.

Note the reduced colour palette has as little as two colours on screen to approximately six at its most vibrant, creating an iconic and highly emulatable look.

The game could utilise a 2.5d aesthetic allowing for a sense of scale within the world but allow for us to use 3d models rather than digitised sprites which may be harder to incorperate while drawing influence from classic games such as Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.

This project would be reliant on branding and marketing alongside the actual product. This would include assets such as box art, storefront icon, poster etc.
